It starts with a simple self evaluation - Are you driving a diesel vehicle? If so, choose an available diesel pump. Are you an aging hippie liberal douche in a Prius with a stupid confused look on your stupid face?

THEN DON’T PARK AT THE ONLY DIESEL PUMP AT THE STATION WHEN THERE ARE FIVE EMPTY GAS PUMPS RIGHT NEXT TO IT!!!!!!!!

What this boils down to is:

Don’t stop where an energy source that your vehicle doesn’t use is dispensed, unless every pump at a fuel station is a combo pump.

In a gas vehicle, and you’re parking at the only diesel pump in the station? Move. Same goes for the only ethanol pump in the station, if you’re not fueling with ethanol.

In an internal combustion vehicle, and you’re parking at an EV space? Move. (If it’s a PHEV, OK, but make sure someone else can plug in to that plug, at least - you don’t need to charge to get home - and don’t park there if you’re not plugging in.)

In a diesel vehicle, and you’re parking at the biodiesel pump, and you don’t want biodiesel? Move. (This is a thing at the station I used to fuel my TDI at - one pump for both regular diesel and biodiesel, one for just regular diesel.)

I hate this. Everytime I need diesel in the powerstroke both the pumps are blocked
